halloween...

I'm making up for lack of posts with all my posts today....Halloween is fast approaching and it being Buddy's first Halloween I am making a big deal of it, of course. I have bought Lil E cute little Halloween apparel that he will have to wear the whole month of October in order to wear it all. I love all the cute little "Daddy's little monster" and "I love my mummy" stuff, I am such a sucker for cheesy holiday apparel. Not to mention I found the cutest footy skeleton PJ's, that glow in the dark, yes you heard me they glow in the dark! Carters.com for anyone that wants to probably terrify their child when they wake up in the middle of the night and look down and see that they are glowing. Anyways it being his big first Halloween, I have gone over a ton of websites looking for the PERFECT Halloween costume for my little monster. Here are the finalists, please feel free to chime in and tell us your favorite!!!

more apples please...

Yesterday was Lil E's first time eating baby apples and he LOVED them! We kind of skipped over rice cereal because it was giving his tummy fits, so this week we are trying apples and bananas are next week! It is crazy the things we get excited over now that Buddy is a part of our lives, I was so excited all day yesterday knowing that he was getting apples for dinner :) Hope everyone is enjoying their week so far, oh and did I mention FALL is finally here! It has been in the low 50's in the morning and the mid 70's all day, it is glorious, and Lil E is loving wearing little pants, he looks like such a little man :)

baby einstein=amazing

Sorry for my lack of posting these past two weeks it seems that having a 4 month old takes ALOT of your time. I have been meaning to blog about two new favorite Baby Einstein things that I LOVE now that Lil E is big enough to  use them. First off we own EVERYTHING Baby Einstein makes and for some reason Buddy is a little bit partial to them over his other toys. We have both the Baby Einstein exersaucer and the jumperoo. He LOVES both, the exersaucer a little more because he can't touch the ground in the jumperoo yet nor can he jump. I am a huge supporter of Baby Einstein because it is amazing, both of these occupy him for a least 30-45 min, and you can tell he is having a ball! So if you are in the market for an exersaucer or jumperoo I HIGHLY recommend both of these, you can buy them at Target :)

dad...

Well Lil E is on the mend, he is finally beginning to feel like himself again, thank goodness! A sick Buddy is one of the saddest things I have ever seen. We made it through the week and are so glad it is Friday! We are so happy to have Brian home and life is getting  back to the norm. Speaking of Brian I just want to brag about him for just a sec. I think having him gone made me realize how much I need him and appreciate him being here! All of you that know him know how awesome he is in every way but I just want to shine a light on how great of a dad he is. I always knew he would be a great dad because he is such an amazing husband and best friend. Not only does Brian work everyday but when he comes home he is loving on Lil E, Cricket and I and starts helping with whatever I need usually which includes making dinner, cause I can't cook :) Buddy is doing great now going to bed about 7 and getting up at 7 but still stirs in the middle of the night so we have to help him get back to sleep. Brian takes turns with me in the middle of the night so I can get some sleep too, then come morning he feeds Buddy everyday so I can get an extra hour of sleep and on the weekends he lets me sleep in till whenever my heart desires!  Everyone knows how much I sleep and how much I LOVE my sleep so he is so wonderful to let me have just a little more. He is such a great dad and husband and we are SO fortunate to have him in our lives. Here are some great moments I captured between him, Buddy and of course Cricket( because she is OBSESSED with him).

sick...

I know I said I would be posting on Monday but as we all can see that didn't happen. Lil E ended up having a 45 min crying fit Monday afternoon, which he NEVER does so we figured something was up and took him to the doctor. As it turned out he has strep throat!!!! I didn't even know 4 month olds could get strep, they say it is uncommon in infants but it is possible. I HATE being sick myself but when Lil E is sick ohhhh it's a MILLION times worse. It's so sad to have a sick baby, my normally energetic and playful sweet one was very cuddly and sleepy and just wanted to lay with me all day. So we have had 2 days in our PJ's, on the couch watching Baby Einstein and Playhouse Disney. After a rough couple of days and antibiotics things are beginning to look up!! Brian comes home today (he has been out of town the past 2 days) I just know when Lil E sees him he will feel even more like himself!

growing up.....

My little man is growing up so fast it is unreal! We got the go ahead to start Little E on rice cereal yesterday so we attempted last night. He was not sure what to think, poor Buddy felt horrible yesterday because of his shots, had a fever and was just super fussy, so we thought it might have not been the best day to try something new. I couldn't resist to share the pictures that we took because they were so funny and adorable.

hello monday...

Although Lil E doesn't turn 4 months until the 20th, we had our 4 month check-up today. He had a great check up other than the horrible needles they stuck my baby with! He weighed in at a whopping 17 pounds, yes 17 pounds at 4 months. He was 25 1/2 inches and in the 85th percentile in both weight and height. The doctor says he is advanced in his strength which is great, he gets to start rice cereal today and fruits in 2 weeks! We are so happy he is healthy and doing great!
We had a busy but great weekend, we went to the Mississippi State vs. Auburn game on Thursday night, unfortunately State lost. :(  Saturday we went to the Alabama vs. Penn State game which was awesome! Other than a little rain we had a great time with Brian's parents and Alabama came out with a big win. Lil E didn't get to go, Brian's sweet cousin Nicole was sooo WONDERFUL and kept him while we were gone the whole day and half of the night, I know he had a great time with her. Below are the pics from the game and just from the weekend. Hope everyone has a fabulous Monday!!

made with love

I wanted to show off the beautiful quilt Brian's sweet grandmother made for Easton. Grandmother was famous for her quilts, everyone LOVES them. They are made with so much thought and love. Brian had 3 or 4 quilts that she made him before we got married and we received a gorgeous one when we tied the knot. For every great grandchild she made a turtle quilt for the boys and a doll quilt for the girls. Easton was special, we decorated Easton's room in an elephant theme so Brian asked his grandmother to make him a elephant quilt instead of turtles, she gladly agreed. :) Last month Grandmother lost her two year battle with cancer and passed away. We were so fortunate that Grandmother and Easton met and spent so much time together. She finished Easton's quilt right before she passed away. Below are pics of Easton enjoying his quilt...

rags to riches...

My goal of this post is to introduce you to our fourth member of our family, our cat, Cricket. Last Christmas when it was so cold, a sweet little black cat kept showing up around our house. She would never get near us but we would find her curled up in our flower pot next to the front door, every night. She kept showing up more and more, to the point where we finally gave in and fed her. Then the temperature really started to drop and we felt sooo bad for her we started putting a towel in the pot and she would bury herself in it. Then I just couldn't stand it I was so distraught not to mention my hormones from being pregnant made it even worse. I convinced Brian to go to Petsmart with me and find something we could put out for her.  We bought a pretty pink igloo shaped cat house that was warm and fuzzy but that wasn't enough for me. I wanted something heated, so we came home and Brian set up the igloo on our porch,  placed a heating pad in it and covered it with a towel. I'm pretty sure Cricket thought she died and gone to heaven. She stayed in the igloo night and day. As days past and it got colder and snowed and I was ready to bring her in. We tried to get her in but she was so skittish never wanted to stay in long or sat at the door and meowed. Everyday we tried a little more.We took her to the vet found out Cricket was a she, got her some shots and found out she had already been fixed, which the vet said she was probably dumped. After trying more and more Cricket finally trusted us. Then one night I got her to sleep in the bed with us, and the rest is history. Cricket now is one spoiled little kitty. We couldn't have bought a sweeter cat, she is the best. She sleeps in our bed every night, hangs out during the day, she will sit by the door when she needs to go out and hangs on the door looking thru the window when she wants back in. Speaking of... funny story one night we were dead asleep and I was awoken to hear the door handle to our front door moving, I thought someone was trying to break in. I woke Brian in a terror and he ran to the front door only to find her hanging on the door handle, she wanted in :) She LOVES Lil E, when I was put on bed rest at week 29 she layed with me almost all day everyday, half the time with her head on my belly. Even when I would lay in a lounge chair in the sun she would lay with me. She thinks everything of Easton's is hers, like those pictures from my previous post. Cricket has Brian wrapped around her little paw, he LOVES her. She sleeps right next to him in bed and follows him EVERYWHERE. She sits on the front porch at 4:30 everyday and waits for him to come home from work at 5. She is so cuddly, smart, and sweet, we are so lucky and blessed that she picked us to be her family! :) ( the pic below of her and I was taken 2 days before Lil E arrived that is why my belly is huge!)
